The gallery signed by MOLDPRES photojournalist Andrei Mardari captures one of the most sensitive and profound traditions of Moldovans – Memorial Easter. Through images filled with emotion, the author documents the moments when people return to the graves of their loved ones to commemorate them, in a gesture of respect, remembrance, and continuity.

The photographs convey the atmosphere of contemplation in the cemeteries, where the silence is interrupted only by whispered prayers and measured footsteps. The faces of the people, marked by longing and reflection, express a living connection between past and present. At the same time, the tradition of sharing memorial offerings takes on powerful visual meanings: simple yet deeply significant tables, gifts offered with generosity, and gestures that speak of solidarity and faith.

It is observed one week after Easter, on the Monday or Sunday dedicated to the commemoration of the departed.
