Applause in Parliament in memory of Eugen Doga

The Parliament session opened today with a moment of silence and applause dedicated to composer Eugen Doga, who passed away one year ago.

“Eugen Doga is a genius of music, a symbol of national culture and a man who succeeded in turning music into pure emotion. Through his works, he taught us to discover the beauty of life and of our homeland, and through his talent and dignity he carried the name of Moldova throughout the world,” said Igor Grosu.

The Speaker emphasized that the artistic legacy left by the composer represents an important part of the national cultural heritage, for which he is honored with respect and gratitude.

At the end of his speech, Igor Grosu invited the MPs to commemorate the maestro with applause, as a sign of appreciation for his contribution to the culture of the Republic of Moldova.

The moment was followed by applause in the plenary of Parliament, in memory of Eugen Doga.

Composer Eugen Doga passed away on 3 June 2025, at the age of 88, in Chișinău.
