Energocom company of Moldova starts procurements of natural gas for Transnistrian region
The Energocom stock company has started the procurements of natural gas for the Transnistrian region, under the directive by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) from 1 February.
Based on this decision, Energocom is to make the acquisitions on European exchanges for consumption due not to exceed 3 million cubic metres of natural gas daily. The gas bought will be delivered to the national network of Moldova, managed by Vestmoldtransgaz, and afterwards to Tiraspoltransgaz.
„The Energocom Company will provide with energy resources also the consumers on the left bank of Dniester. This results from efforts and experience gained in the last years, when Energocom registered on exchanges from the countries of the region and imported gas and electric energy on different routes and sources, thus enhancing the country's energy independence,’’ the company stressed.
CSE today authorized the purchasing by the Energocom stock company of natural for the left bank of Dniester and electric energy for the right bank.
The European Union provides Moldova with an emergency support for energy security. The agreement on non-refundable financing between Moldova’s government and EU is worth 64 million euros.
