Fuel prices continue to drop in Moldova
Fuel prices continue to decline. Thus, diesel has hit a historic low price - 18.40 lei, comparable to January 2022, the period before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the subsequent energy crisis in Europe.
Compared to the maximum values recorded at the beginning of this year, petrol COR 95 is currently cheaper by 2.56 lei/liter, and diesel by 3.31 lei/liter.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) explained that the price drop is driven by the cheaper oil on international markets and the devaluation of the US dollar against the Moldovan leu.
“The current drops in fuel prices show once again the effectiveness of the pricing mechanism for petroleum products by ANRE, which allows a faithful reflection of international market developments on the display boards of fuel stations during both rising and falling periods of market forecasts. Thus, consumers in the Republic of Moldova pay a fair price, aligned with the economic realities of the day on which they purchase the fuels,” ANRE emphasized.
For the next four days, ANRE announced a maximum price for petrol of 22.23 lei, down by 0.08 lei. Diesel will decrease by 0.07 lei and will cost 18.40 lei.
