BTA: Romanian PM Paying Two-Day Visit to Austria, Scheduled to Meet Hungarian Counterpart
Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is paying an official two-day visit to Austria, the Romanian government's press service said. His schedule includes meetings with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker and with the Minister of Europe, Integration and Family, the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, and the Minister of Finance.
According to the press release, the main purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations, both politically and diplomatically, as well as economically, and to achieve closer coordination at regional and European level, given the current challenges in the region. Cooperation in the economic sector will also focus on other areas with potential for increasing investment in both markets.
On the schedule of the visit to Vienna are one-on-one discussions, plenary talks, and a working lunch hosted by the Austrian Chancellor, which will be attended by representatives of Romanian and Austrian companies.
Also scheduled is a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest. The talks will focus on cooperation between Romania, Hungary, and Austria for the development of interconnections in the electricity sector.
