Speaker attends reception dedicated to Japan’s National Day

Speaker Igor Grosu attended the reception organized by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova on Japan's National Day. In his speech, the official highlighted the results of the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Japan.

The Speaker noted that Moldovan citizens are well aware of the impact of cooperation between our country and Japan. Through the assistance programs of the Government of Japan, especially in the field of healthcare, hospitals and medical institutions in numerous localities across the country have been equipped with modern equipment, ambulances, and essential technology for rapid diagnosis and treatment.

“Although we are separated by thousands of kilometers, Moldova and Japan are united by mutual respect and sincere cooperation,” Igor Grosu remarked.

As President of Moldova–Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, the head of the legislature mentioned that this role gives him the opportunity to see more closely how solid and valuable the relationship between the two countries is.

“The Republic of Moldova is going through a period of profound transformation. We are building stronger institutions, developing the economy, and working to provide our citizens with greater stability. In this process, the friendship and support of our partners matter enormously. Japan is one of those partners that has consistently demonstrated that it stands by Moldova,” Grosu said.

The Republic of Moldova established its first diplomatic relations with Japan on 16 March 1992.
