Moldova to host Black Sea Region Security Conference under aegis of International Crimea Platform

The Black Sea Region Security Conference will take place in Chisinau on March 23, this year. The event is organized under the aegis of the International Crimea Platform.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), the conference will bring together high-ranking officials from Moldova, Ukraine and partner states, as well as representatives of international organizations, the business community, civil society and academia.

The meeting is co-organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Moldova and Ukraine, with the support of the European Union.

“In the context of the significant impact of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine on the security situation in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov region, the discussions will focus on regional security strategies, freedom of navigation, the impact on critical infrastructure, the importance of regional cooperation, the lessons learned, as well as the formulation of practical recommendations for strengthening regional security and resilience,” the Moldovan MAE informed.

The Black Sea Region Security Conference is now at its third edition. The event continues the dialogue launched in Bucharest in 2023 and in Sofia in 2024, in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
