Government announces registration for energy compensation in cold season
As of today, household consumers can sign up for the government program Help at the Meter on the platform compensatii.gov.md. The government offers energy compensation for the 2025–2026 cold season, which includes November–March.
This year as well, the compensation will be offered as a monetary payment, paid monthly. Beneficiaries can receive the money on a social card - if they receive other state allowances, at any postal office in the country, or in a bank account opened in the name of the main applicant.
The information system will individually calculate the compensation value for each household, based on the family income, number of members, and their status (minor, person with disability, student), so that support is provided proportional to the needs of each family.
Additional data verification measures from applications are the same as in the previous season. Data will be checked from the information systems of several institutions: State Tax Service, National House of Social Insurance, National Council for Determination of Disability and Work Capacity, Public Services Agency, energy providers, National Employment Agency, universities, banking institutions. Based on this analysis, the system will calculate an individualized compensation for each household.
To receive compensation, all consumers must submit an application, regardless of whether they registered in the system last year or not. The application can be submitted online through the platform compensatii.gov.md or with the help of registrars. Persons who do not have internet access or encounter difficulties registering on the platform can complete the application with the help of social assistants or specialists from unified service delivery centers (CUPS). In locations with a high number of applicants, mobile teams will be available to aid in citizen registration.
For questions related to the registration process, the free call center number 0 8000 5000 is available (Monday-Friday, from 08:00 to 18:00).
To receive compensation for November, applicants must register on the platform compensatii.gov.md by 28 November. Persons who do not register by 28 November will still be able to register, but will not receive compensation for November. If the application is submitted after the 25th of the month, compensation will be granted starting with the following month.
