Moldova returns to Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with new national selection format

Moldova returns to the international Eurovision Song Contest 2026 after a one-year hiatus, the company Teleradio-Moldova has informed. At the same time, participation will be marked by a new national selection format, coordinated by producers Serghei Orlov and Roman Burlaca, who will ensure transparency, professionalism and international competitiveness.

Registrations for the National Selection start on November 7 and will last for 30 days. Interested artists can submit their original songs to eurovision@trm.md, by observing the official regulations. For the first time, the national final jury will be made up of 20 members, including 5 international and 15 national, in order to guarantee an objective evaluation process.

Moldova did not participate in Eurovision 2025, because of economic, administrative and artistic challenges that affected the organization of the national selection and song quality. The decision was made by Moldova 1 and the Eurovision Moldova Delegation, in order to allow a reformation of the process and to prepare for a stronger return in the next edition.

The 2026 edition marks 70 years since the launch of Eurovision and Moldova’s  20th participation in the contest. The winner of the national final will benefit from professional counseling by the two official producers and a prize meant for preparations for the international stage.
