Moldovan president meets His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople
President Maia Sandu, during her visit to Bucharest, has met with His Holiness Bartholomew, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, who is in Romania on the occasion of the Service of Consecration of the National Cathedral's painting.
The discussions focused on the role of faith in promoting peace, solidarity and understanding among people, as well as preserving Christian values that bring communities closer together.
President Maia Sandu expressed gratitude on behalf of Moldova’s citizens for the spiritual support provided by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and reaffirmed the country's commitment to being a pillar of peace, dialogue and respect among countries and peoples.
