The European Commission will publish the annual enlargement package for 2025 on November 4. According to Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, the report will assess the progress of Moldova and other candidate countries on their way to joining the European Union.
“This report evaluates two major dimensions: the level of progress or regression recorded in the past year and each country's readiness for accession. The Commission identifies challenges and provides recommendations for necessary reforms in the next 12 months,” explained Gherasimov.
According to last year's report, Moldova made progress in 31 out of the 33 chapters and enhanced its readiness for accession in such areas as energy, environment, Customs Union, education and culture, regional policy and coordination of structural instruments.
“This year, we worked even harder, despite having two elections, a referendum, unprecedented challenges, an intensive screening process, and a complex strategic planning process for the next five years. What will this year's report look like? We find out tomorrow!” said Cristina Gherasimov.
Moldova on September 2025, in Brussels, completed the bilateral screening process that had started in July 2024. In this exercise, experts from public institutions analyzed over 100,000 pages of national legislation compared to the European Union’s one.
