Moldovan parliament speaker, UK, Northern Ireland MPs discuss bilateral cooperation

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has met members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The discussions focused on opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The speaker thanked the officials for their support in aiding Moldovans residing in the United Kingdom. "Starting from August 1, citizens have the possibility to exchange their Moldovan driving license for a British one, without taking the theoretical and practical exams," noted Igor Grosu.

At the same time, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized the support provided by the United Kingdom in combating disinformation and strategic communication. "The United Kingdom is a good and strong ally of Moldova," stressed the speaker.

Moldova established its first diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1992. To date, 15 bilateral agreements have been signed.
