Moldovan delegation to Joint Control Commission condemns Tiraspol's destabilizing actions in Security Zone
Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) demanded inclusion on the Commission’s agenda the subject on the abusive detaining of citizen Dorel Rosca in the Security Zone, at a JCC working meeting on 7 October 2021, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
Several days ago, Rosca was restricted the right to free movement at an illegal ‘’border guards’’ post nearby the village Lunga, after which he was abusively detained and subjected to illegal ‘’inquiry’’ procedures by representatives of the so-called mgb (state security committee). The military observers were not able to move on the spot to clear up the circumstances and document the infringement, because the representatives of Tiraspol and the Joint Military Command opposed this.
Moldova’s delegation stressed the constant character of the provocative and destabilizing actions admitted by structures which just cannot be present in the zone of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, but who resort to illegal detainings and kidnapping of people.
In this respect, the case of citizens kidnapped in the Camenca district one year ago is telling, some of whom are illegally detained at present by the Transnistrian forces too. The latter refuses even to provide pertinent information to the authorities and the relatives.
The defying actions show the infringement by the Transnistrian side of the fundamental human rights and the basic acts as to the peacekeeping operation at Dniester. And the fact that the present peacekeeping mechanisms do not allow efficient intervention in such cases proves that they try to get the situation in the Security Zone out of the control of the Joint Control Commission.
Moldova’s delegation informs regretfully that, this time too, the principle of observing the consensus as to the taking of decisions by JCC, approved back in 1992, had not allowed including this subject on JCC’s agenda, for reasons that it was blocked by the Transnistrian side.
As a result, in the lack of an agenda approved, the meeting could be opened and the discussions will be resumed next week. Moldova’s delegation, which is to chair the meeting, will further insist on the inclusion of the important subjects regarding the situation in the Security Zone on the agenda.
