
Moldova purchases 4,442 vials of rabies vaccine
The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) has allocated over 562 thousand lei from the prophylactic measures fund for the purchase of a portion of the second batch of rabies vaccines this year.
According to CNAM, the first part of the batch contains 4,442 vials of rabies vaccine, produced in India. The preparations have already arrived in Moldova and have been received by the National Public Health Agency, being stored under special conditions at the National Vaccine Center.
The Company also said that, last in January, the first batch of rabies vaccines for 2025 had been received, consisting of 7,000 doses and 42 vials of rabies immunoglobulin.
According to specialists, the rabies serum is indicated for the prevention of rabies in children and adults, being used both before and after exposure to the rabies virus, as a primary immunization.
