Moldovan parliament speaker conveys message on Public Servant's Day

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has conveyed a congratulatory message to public servants on their professional day. The speaker expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the people working in the public sector to the country's development and progress in Moldova's European integration process.

"I send you my sincere congratulations and wishes of health, prosperity and achievements in your activity dedicated to society and the citizen. We have been working together for many years and I am sure that together we can build a modern and prosperous society, a dignified future that we all deserve at home," said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

On the occasion of Public Servant Day, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu awarded diplomas to the servants from the parliament’s Secretariat, as a token of gratitude for professionalism, outstanding results in activity and dedication in public service.

As many as 184 public servants work at the parliament’s Secretariat; more than half of them have work experience of over 15 years. According to statistics data, out of the total number of public servants, 141 are women and 43 are men; 24 servants hold managerial positions, while 160 hold executive public positions.

The average age of public servants at the parliament’s Secretariat is 47 years. Twenty of the servants are under 35 years old and 123 are aged between 36 and 55 years.

The Public Servant’s Day is annually marked on June 23, starting from 2012. Globally, the International Public Service Day was established by the United Nations in 2003.
