Moldovan, Romanian surgeons perform more innovative at Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital

The Republican Clinical Hospital Timofei Mosneaga has recently hosted a string of advanced laparoscopic procedures, carried out in collaboration by urologists from Moldova and Romania.

According to the hospital’s administration, the surgeries, a pyeloplasty and a partial nephrectomy were performed at the University Clinic of Urology, Dialysis, and Renal Transplantation as part of a comprehensive professional experience exchange programme.

The procedures were coordinated by Ion Dragomiristeanu, a chief urologist at the Prof. Dr. Theodor Burghele Clinical Hospital of Urology from Bucharest, in cooperation with the medical team from Chisinau. They were conducted in the presence of specialty colleagues and resident physicians, providing a practical framework of training and professional development.

The Romanian physician's visit also included a meeting with the institution's director, Andrei Uncuta, deputy director Alexandru Ferdohleb, Rector of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Emil Ceban, as well as the head of the Urology Section, Andrei Galescu. The main topics discussed were strengthening inter-institutional cooperation, promoting minimally invasive surgery and organizing joint professional training projects.

Representatives of both institutions emphasized the essential role of integrating university activities with clinical practice in the process of modernizing medical services.
