PHOTO GALLERY // Declaration of Sovereignty in MOLDPRES objective
Voted on June 23, 1990, the Declaration of Sovereignty paved the way for the independence of the Republic of Moldova. The declaration stipulated the supremacy of Moldovan SSR laws over union laws, the establishment of Moldovan citizenship, the affirmation of the state's unitary, indivisible, and demilitarized character. Additionally, all natural resources and heritage located on the territory of the republic were declared the exclusive property of Moldova.
The event of June 23, 1990, was immortalized by photojournalists of Moldova-press agency, a media institution created in the same year, on June 20.
