
Meeting of Moldova – European Union Association Subcommittee held in Chișinău
The Ministry of Finance hosted the 9th meeting of Moldova – European Union Association Subcommittee. The event was conducted based on the Association Agreement, within Thematic Cluster I: Economic Dialogue, Public Finance Management, Statistics, Financial Reform, Control and Anti-fraud Clauses".
The event gathered representatives from public institutions in Moldova and the European Commission, co-chaired by Ana Luca, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and Milan Lisicky, representative of the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) of the European Commission.
The dialogue focused on topics such as the macroeconomic situation, fiscal and structural policies, labor market, public investments, financial sector, national statistics, and fraud prevention measures. The participants presented progress on structural reforms, namely promoting foreign direct investments, reform of state-owned enterprises and the labor market, financial sector reforms, the macroprudential policy strategy, combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, as well as harmonization of national statistics with European standards.
Minister of Finance Victoria Belous highlighted the importance of sectoral cooperation between Moldova and the European Union, emphasizing the progress made in the efficient use of external funds and in implementing reforms in public finance.
At the end of the meeting, Ana Luca emphasized Moldova's commitment to continue implementing reforms and aligning with European Union standards.
The activities of the Association Subcommittee – Cluster 1 are held annually. The previous meeting took place in Chișinău in November 2023.
