Moldovan MPs attend PACE summer session in Strasbourg

The Moldovan parliamentary delegation is participating on June 23-27 in the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), held in Strasbourg.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the delegation led by Deputy Ion Groza includes parliamentarians Natalia Davidovici, Andrian Cheptonar, Adela Răileanu, and Vice President of the Parliament Vlad Batrîncea.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a session of the PACE Monitoring Committee will take place, during which co-rapporteurs for the Republic of Moldova will present an informative note. This reflects the conclusions of the recent fact-finding visit to our country and addresses topics such as preparations for the parliamentary elections on 28 September 2025, justice reform, fight against corruption, respect for human rights and media freedom.

Additionally, the PACE Bureau is set to approve the composition of the observation mission that will monitor the autumn elections.

The agenda of the summer session also includes debates on inclusive participation in parliamentary life, with a focus on gender equality, accessibility, and inclusive policies, as well as issues regarding the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine.

The agenda also features three urgent debates: the situation of women's rights in Europe, stopping the genocide in Gaza and the role of the Council of Europe, as well as prospects for negotiating the exchange of prisoners of war.

During the session, Vigdís Prize for the empowerment of women will also be awarded, in recognition of efforts to promote gender equality.
