Moldovan PM invites people to March of Sovereignty

Prime Minister Dorin Recean urges citizens to participate, on June 23, at 19:00, in the March of Sovereignty, an event organized at an initiative by President Maia Sandu. The celebration of the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty will start at the monument to Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, placed at the central entrance of the Mills’ Valley Park in Chisinau.

The PM said that the event was organized "as a token of gratitude to those who fought for our independence and with resoluteness for the future that we are building together".

"Come along with your loved ones, with the Tricolor in hand. Let's show, once again, that we are united by the same aspirations - a free, dignified and European Moldova," urged Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

At the monument to Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, artists Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici and Simona will recall the songs of national rebirth. Afterwards, participants will proceed to the Presidency of Moldova, where speeches will be given by the head of state, Maia Sandu, and the president of the "Parliament '90" Association, Ion Hadarca. There will also be a concert featuring Vali Boghean, Simona, and Radu Dolgan with the band Noroc.

Additionally, since the March of Sovereignty takes place on the eve of the Universal Day of the Ia (traditional Romanian blouse), people are encouraged to wear traditional clothing.

On June 23, 1990, the lawmakers of the Supreme Soviet (parliament) of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty.
