
Moldovan interior ministry says 19 people stopped at border for security reasons
UPDATE: 19 foreign citizens were not admitted to the territory of Moldova, as they did not meet the legal entry conditions, according to the Border Police.
The cited source said that the concerned individuals had failed to present documents that would confirm the declared purpose of their trip – participation in sports events. Specifically, they lacked official invitations, passes, programs in which they were registered or other relevant documents, in order to clearly prove the reason for their visit.

Several individuals have not been admitted to the territory of Moldova in recent days, following checks conducted at border crossing points for reasons related to national security. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the General Inspectorate of Border Police made statements to this effect
According to the cited source, the decisions were made in accordance with current legislation.
“The Border Police acts strictly in accordance with the provisions of the national legislation. All those who pose a potential risk to national security are subjected to necessary checks, in full compliance with the current legal norms,” reads the press release issued by the Interior Ministry.
