Moldovan PM at Bookfest urges people to discover Romanian, foreign authors, become friends of books, written words
Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - The sixth edition of the Bookfest Chisinau International Book Saloon has been staged in the Moldovan capital for the third day in a row. Over 30,000 volumes of books can be found on the shelves of the publishing houses present at the event. Also, visitors can participate in book launches, workshops and meetings with contemporary authors.
On the Knowledge Day, marked on 1 September, Prime Minister Dorin Recean also visited the book saloon. He praised the large number of visitors and a wide choice of book volumes from all fields, displayed by publishing houses from Romania and Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„I was happy to meet people fond of reading, of all ages, good books and publishing houses from both banks of the Prut river, which promote the reading in the Romanian language. I urge you to go to Bookfest, to discover Romanian and foreign authors, to become friends of books and written words. And I urge all those who started the school year to be curious, dedicated and use each opportunity of education along with your teachers,’’ PM Recean said,.
Bookfest Chisinau 2023 is held under the High Patronage of President Maia Sandu and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. The event is organized at the Mediacor Centre from the Moldovan State University on 30 August – 3 September.
