Moldovan PM willing to have permanent, mutually advantageous communication with business community
Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met a delegation of the Lafarge Ciment Moldova company, led by the new director-general, Jean-Michel Pons, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister congratulated the new leader of the group on his delegation to Moldova. Filip stressed that the mandate of Jean-Michel Pons fit a period of intense reforms, Moldova is going through, and that he would like to synchronize them.
At the same time, Pavel Filip said the government set as priority the improvement of the business environment and creation of well-paid jobs for citizens. In the context, the PM enumerated a string of measures which have been already implemented and are meant to facilitate the work of entrepreneurs, among which the decrease in the number of permissive acts, cancellation of more departmental acts of the Customs Service, state controls’ reform, as well as reports’ unification.
For their part, the representatives of the Lafarge Ciment company highlighted the government’s openness for dialogue and the quickness with which the cabinet responds to demands by the business community. At the same time, they signaled problems they face, and asked for the authorities’ involvement to overcome them.
The prime minister confirmed the government’s openness to overcome the obstacles the business environment is confronting with, stressing that the Economic Council under the Prime Minister had been set up to have a permanent communication with business representatives.
“The Economic Council under the Prime Minister is a good platform of dialogue between the government and the business environment. The role of this structure is not only to identify the problems of the business community, but also to propose solutions to settle them,” the prime minister said.
The Lafarge Group is specialized in construction materials, and is present in 64 countries. In Moldova, the company started working in the northern Rezina town in 1999 and created over 600 jobs.
