Moldovan and Polish MPs sign joint declaration supporting Moldova's European integration

Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland (PA RM-RP) today approved a joint declaration targeting the European path and assistance in implementing development reforms in our country. The declaration was approved during the 10th session of the PA RM-RP, hosted by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, officials from the two states evaluated the current situation of the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and discussed Poland's support in implementing reforms, including through the transfer of expertise and best practices from its EU accession experience.

The document's signatories note that the official launch of Moldova's EU accession negotiations is an important recognition of the country's commitment to follow reforms on the path to EU membership, despite ongoing confrontation with Russian interference and the impact of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. At the same time, the Joint Declaration welcomes Poland's support for Moldova's EU membership, particularly the attention given to Moldova's priorities during the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The document also notes the need for continued support from Poland and other EU member states to ensure appropriate EU financial assistance for Moldova, including EU membership and security needs, within the EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2028 – 2034.

Regarding the assistance provided by Poland in implementing Moldova's development reforms, the signatories of the Joint Declaration mention the commitment to implement Polish development and investment projects in priority areas for Moldova, such as defense, agriculture, transport sector modernization, services digitalization, public order and energy security.

The joint declaration was signed by deputy speaker, PA RM-RP co-chair Doina Gherman and acting co-chair of PA RM-RP Marek Tomasz Hok.
