
Moldovan speaker attends EU Speakers Conference
Speaker Igor Grosu is attending EU Speakers Conference. The meeting is taking place on 11-12 May in Budapest, hosted by the Hungarian Parliament.
EU speakers, President of the European Parliament and presidents of parliaments of candidate countries will discuss common current topics related to the future of Europe. During the first discussion session, there will be an exchange of views on issues regarding the future of the European Union. The second session will address regionalism in Europe and the protection of European cultural identity. At the end of the two sessions, the conference's final declaration will be adopted.
In Budapest, Grosu has scheduled meetings with his counterparts from several EU countries, as well as with Moldovan citizens living, studying, or working in Hungary.
The event serves as a forum for discussion, exchange of views, information, and experience regarding the role and responsibilities of national parliaments in the European structure, as well as the tools for interparliamentary cooperation in European affairs. The meeting is attended by the presidents of the member states' parliaments, the President of the European Parliament, and the presidents of parliaments of the candidate countries.
