Moldovan speaker's message in Bucharest
On 9 May, Speaker Igor Grosu held a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies Raluca Turcan, who is visiting Chișinău on Europe Day.
The Chișinău official emphasized Romania's significant support in Moldova's European integration and reiterated that the authorities rely on Romania to remain a strong European state after the presidential elections.
"For the Republic of Moldova, it is essential that Romania remains a strong European state that continues to be by our side and support us on our European path. This is the message I conveyed to Raluca Turcan, who is on a visit to Chișinău on Europe Day," Grosu said.
"We will do our best to defend democracy, freedom and peace on both banks of the Prut River," he said.
On 9 May, Victory Day and Europe Day are celebrated in the Republic of Moldova. The events officially opened at 1:00 PM in the Great National Assembly Square, attended by high-ranking officials from the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, as well as EU member state ambassadors accredited to Chișinău.
