BTA: Donation of Bulgarian language books to Regional Public Library 'St. Cyril and Methodius' from Taraclia

The Regional Public Library 'St. Cyril and Methodius' from Taraclia has received a valuable collection of books in Bulgarian, authored by Bessarabian writers. The donation was made by Prof. Elena Nalbantova, a specialist in Bulgarian Revival literature and author of a study titled, The History of Bulgarian Literature in Bessarabia and Tavria. 19th-21st Centuries, reports BTA.

The donated personal collection, titled Bulgarian Literature in Bessarabia and Tavria, includes 173 book editions and electronic publications, which already enrich the library's collection in Taraclia.

A message sent by the library’s team reads that this unique collection represents ‘’a true cultural bridge between Bessarabia and Bulgaria,’’ bringing together the voices of authors whose works reflect the identity, memory, language and spiritual heritage of the Bulgarian people.

‘’This gift is of great importance to our library and our readers. It not only enriches the book collection, but also opens new opportunities for the study and promotion of Bulgarian literature, maintaining the connection to our roots and strengthening the cultural unity of the Bulgarian Diaspora,’’ reads the letter of appreciation.

The library expresses deep gratitude to Professor Nalbantova for her generous gesture, support and attention, as well as for her educational mission to preserve the spiritual treasures of the Bulgarian people.

‘’Your contribution is a symbol of friendship and cultural unity between Bulgaria and Moldova, a sign of respect for the libraries and readers of the Taraclia region. The collection, Bulgarian Literature in Bessarabia and Tavria, is a precious gift for us, the librarians, and all readers, especially on the Day of the Awakening of the National Revival Leaders,’’ concludes the message of thanks, signed by the team of the Regional Public Library 'St. Cyril and Methodius'.
