Munteanu Government pledges to improve access to quality medical services

Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu stated during the presentation of the governance program in Parliament that the healthcare system in the Republic of Moldova needs modernization, and doctors should be supported through competitive salaries and better working conditions.

"It is necessary to improve access to medical services. We have very good doctors, I always benefit from the services of doctors in the Republic of Moldova. We must pay them well and create decent working conditions for them," Munteanu emphasized.

Designated Minister of Health Emil Ceban mentioned that the health of the population remains one of the major priorities of the new Government. According to him, the focus will be on access, quality, and infrastructure, as well as on the digital modernization of the medical system.

"Population health remains a priority. Medical access, quality, and infrastructure must be improved. New hospitals will be built alongside all necessary changes in the territory. We need the implementation of telemedicine, as only through digitalization can we properly manage the situation and obtain up-to-date information about patients," Ceban stated.

The designated Minister noted that massive investments in the health sector in recent years must continue, emphasizing that telemedicine and digitalization will be "the keys to real modernization" of the system.

"We have a shortage of doctors, and telemedicine can help us compensate for this deficit and improve the quality of medical care," Emil Ceban concluded.
