DOC // Moldova's public-sector employees to receive one-off allowances of up to four thousand lei: law published in Official Journal, enters into force
The public-sector employees with an average monthly income of up to 20,000 lei will receive a one-off allowance of up to 4,000 lei. The law amending the state budget, which provides for the one-off payments, today was published in the Official Journal and entered into force.
A total of 560 million lei has been allocated from the state budget for the payments. According to the document, teachers will receive a one-off allowance of 4,000 lei. Employees in national defense, public order, healthcare, culture, sports, local public administration and the justice sector will receive financial support of 3,000 lei, while technical staff, security guards, cooks, and auxiliary personnel will receive a one-off allowance of 2,000 lei.
The one-off payment will be made in four equal installments starting from October 2026, through the authority or institution where the beneficiary works.
Under the law revising the state budget for 2026, total expenditures will increase by 2.77 billion lei and exceed 103.34 billion lei. In addition to the funds allocated to support public-sector employees, transfers to the state social insurance budget will increase by 1.67 billion lei, of which 550 million lei will be used to provide energy compensation in the form of cash payments.
Financial allocations are also earmarked for infrastructure development in rural communities. The National Regional and Local Development Fund will be increased by 1 billion lei, in order to complete local infrastructure projects, while the Roads Fund will receive an additional 300 million lei.
The law amending the State Budget Law for 2026 and providing for exceptional one-off payments enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
