Moldova's General Police Inspectorate says aircraft detected in Rezina of Gerbera type, without explosive devices or substances

The aircraft detected today in north-eastern Rezina district is a Gerbera type and is generally used for reconnaissance purposes.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), examination revealed that it was not carrying any explosive devices or substances.

An object resembling a drone today was detected in a wooded area near the village of Gordinesti, Rezina district. The area was cordoned off and the aircraft was examined by specialists.

In October, following attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the airspace of Moldova was violated 19 times in the districts of Causeni, Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi, Hancesti, Ocnita, Donduseni, Telenesti, Calarasi, Ungheni and Edinet, as well as in four localities in the Transnistrian region. During this period, six drones exploded on the ground.

Since the beginning of 2026, approximately 70 incidents involving violations of Moldova’s airspace have been recorded. Since 2022, the total number of recorded incidents has exceeded 100.
