Government approved extension of energy compensation for all families in Moldova
Families in the Republic of Moldova will continue to benefit from electricity compensation. The government decided today to extend the provision of support for September - October 2025.
The decision will allow all households in the country to continue receiving compensation for the first 110 kW consumed.
“We have approved the decision by which we will ensure universal compensation for all citizens, all families in the Republic of Moldova for electricity consumption for the first 110 kW consumed. This concerns September and October. We are committed to being by our citizens' side through this program until the end of the year,” Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said.
The compensation program was launched in February 2025 and is valid throughout the year.
The electricity compensation is automatically provided on the bill, requiring no action from consumers. About 1.2 million households will benefit from this.
According to the authorities' estimates, the projected cost for providing compensation in September-October 2025 period is about 115 million lei per month or 230 million lei for two months.
It is possible with financial assistance from the European Union.
