Over 150,000 visitors, guests from about 30 countries attended National Wine Day in Moldova

Over 150,000 visitors from about 30 countries have attended the 24th edition of the National Wine Day, which took place on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) in Chisinau in the last week-end.

Data of Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) shows that a total of 9,100 tasting booklets were sold on Wine Day, up by 82 per cent against the 2024 year. At the same time, 106 wineries participated in the event, 43 of which were small local producers.

The Wine School played an important role in the schedule, continuing to promote the culture of responsible consumption and oenological education. Visitors were able to participate in topic-related sessions held by sommeliers and tasters with international experience. Local grapes varieties, characteristics of the wine regions with Protected Geographical Indication, wine and food pairing rules, as well as professional tasting techniques were presented.

The schedule also included the Farmer's Courtyard, a space where traditional crafts, like pottery, wood carving, carpet weaving, and wine drawing, were showcased.

The National Wine Day is the most important event dedicated to the wine heritage of Moldova. The holiday took place under the country brand slogan, Wine of Moldova. Surprisingly Good, and confirmed Moldova's position on the international wine tourism map.
