Flu vaccination campaign starts in Moldova; batch of 240,000 vaccine doses arrive in Moldova

Moldova has received a batch of 240,000 doses of the flu vaccine, Influvac Tetra, with a 0.5 ml dose in a pre-filled syringe. The vaccine was purchased with resources of the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) and will arrive in the country's medical institutions.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Olesea Croitor, the head of the Information and Communication Service of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), said that the batch had been stored at the National Vaccine Depot and was to be distributed to territorial public health centers. Subsequently, the doses will be sent to medical institutions throughout Moldova for the immunization of medical personnel and individuals in high-risk categories of illness.

The Influvac Tetra vaccine provides protection against the A(H1N1), A(H3N2), and B influenza viruses, reducing the risk of severe forms of the disease, complications and hospitalizations.

ANSP specialists reiterate that vaccination is the safest and most effective way of preventing flu, contributing to the reduction of cases and the protection of vulnerable people.

Additionally, the Health Ministry and ANSP recommend that the residents are vaccinated simultaneously against flu and COVID-19 for full protection during the cold season.
