Moldovan foreign affairs minister, new Kazakh diplomacy head discuss cooperation in energy sector

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi has had a phone conversation with new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev. The officials discussed cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries, which will contribute to strengthening Moldova's efforts in ensuring energy security.

Minister Mihai Popsoi congratulated his counterpart on his appointment and wished him success in his mandate.

“We discussed the main aspects of Moldovan-Kazakh relations, with a focus on developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. We also agreed to organize a meeting of the Moldovan-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission for commercial and economic collaboration in the near future, which will boost bilateral cooperation in the economic, cultural and humanitarian dimensions,” said Mihai Popsoi.

At the same time, the Moldovan official invited the Kazakh minister to make an official visit to Chisinau, in order to strengthen the bilateral dialogue and develop new cooperation opportunities.

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Kazakhstan were established in September 1992. Presently, the bilateral legal framework includes 35 documents regulating the Moldovan-Kazakh cooperation in various fields.
