Military Strategy 2025–2035 approved by Government
The cabinet of ministers has approved the Military Strategy 2025-2035, which outlines the main directions for developing the national defense system of the Republic of Moldova.
The document aims to strengthen the state's defense capabilities and adapt them to new security realities. The priority modernization areas for the Armed Forces include upgrading air defense capabilities, strengthening cyber defense, and improving personnel training.
"We have a very clear objective – to invest, first and foremost, in people, in the National Army of the Republic of Moldova. Therefore, we will continue to develop the army, defend our homeland, and contribute to global peace and security," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
Externally, the Strategy provides for continued cooperation with the European Union and other international partners by aligning with modern defense and security standards. Additionally, the Armed Forces will continue to participate in managing internal emergency situations and, if necessary, support other public authorities.
"When we invest in the defense of the Republic of Moldova, in the National Army, we always hear opposing voices. These are the same voices that have kept the army in misery and disorder for decades. They still want to keep it weak. They praise Kremlin, but forget to mention that Kremlin spends 7% of its gross domestic product on wars and 32% of its budget. Every third dollar from Kremlin's budget goes to kill children, young people, and people in Ukraine," Recean said.
