Use of drones to be settled by special regulation in Moldova
Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The use of drones over populated zones of settlements or over crowds of people will be banned. At the same time, fines will be imposed for the non-authorized or contrary to purposes operation of drones. This will be possible based on a regulation due to be presented for public discussions.
The director of the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC), Radu Bezniuc, has told a news conference that things were pretty unclear in Moldova as regards the use of drones in the civilian sector. Presently, there are no data about the number of pilotless flying apparatus, neither about the qualification of drone users.
To remove these gaps, AAC worked out a draft of the Civil Aviation Procedures and Instructions – operation of pilotless flying apparatus, which will establish a framework of regulation in the field for the first time ever.
After the new regulation enters into force, a register of pilotless flying apparatus will be created. The procedure of registration of drones will be simple. If the flight is not planned to be made to restricted zones, the application on temporary registration will be submitted online. Starting the moment of submitting the application, a certificate of temporary registration will be issued to the applicant for a 30-day period.
Under the document, the maximal height at which the carrying out operations with pilotless flying apparatus is going to be allowed will be of 100 metres. At the same time, the operation of pilotless airships at a distance smaller than 250 metres from any type of transport means and over populated areas in settlements will be banned.
