
Moldova to get €4.34 million to modernize waste management infrastructure in south of country
Chisinau, Nov 13 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will receive a 4.34 million euro grant from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to modernize the solid waste management infrastructure.
Today, members of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance examined the draft ratification of a grant agreement with the EBRD.
Under the agreement, €2.25 million will be used to close the landfill in the city of Cahul.
In addition, €820,000 of the grant will be used to close landfills in the districts of Cahul, Cantemir, Taraclia, as well as in the districts of Vulcanesti, Ceadir-Lunga and Comrat in the Gagauz region.
The grant agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, signed on September 17, 2024, will be proposed for ratification in the Parliament.
