Romanian Language and Culture Centre reopened at State University of Comrat

The Romanian language and culture will be promoted in Comrat. After four years, the Romanian Language Lecturers of the Comrat-based State University was reopened with Romania’s support.

The Centre’s reopening represents ‘’an extra example of Romania’s commitment to support the education and preserve the Romanian culture and language in Moldova,’’ said the state secretary of the Department for Relation with Moldova at the Romanian government, Adrian Dupu, who participated in the event in Comrat.

The reopening of the Centre of Romanian Language and Culture n Comrat entails a special significance, Dupu noted.

„The Centre due to work at the university has the goal to teach the Romanian language and promote the national culture for students from Comrat and the entire region,’’ the Romanian official stressed.

The Romanian Language Lecturers of the Comrat-based State University was founded in 2015. Yet, it has not worked in the last four years. The Centre’s opening was possible with the support of the Education Ministry of Romania, Romanian Language Institute, Department for Relation with Moldova, Embassy of Romania in Moldova and the Comrat University.
