
First ten countries qualified in final of Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Chisinau, 09 May /MOLDPRES/ – Ten countries qualified within first semifinal of Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which took place on 08 May evening in Lisbon, Portugal. There will participate in grand final: Austria, Estonia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Israel, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Albania, Finland and Ireland, which will take place on 12 May in the capital of Portugal.
The representatives from 19 countries: Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Albania, Czech Republic, Belgium, Iceland, Azerbaijan, Israel, Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Ireland, Armenia, Cyprus, Croatia, Greece and Macedonia, evolved in the first semifinal.
Ten other countries have to be nominated for grand final after the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which will take place on 10 May, when representatives of Moldova, band: DoReDos, under number 07, will perform on the stage in Lisbon together with artists from Romania, Australia, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Denmark, San Marino, Holland, Montenegro, Sweden, Hungary, Malta, Latvia, Georgia, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine.
Band: DoReDoS will represent the Republic of Moldova with song: My lucky day by Filip Kirkorov.
Eurovision Song Contest is an international music competition, organised by European Broadcasting Union, largest public television association in Europe. The performance has become one of the worldwide longest and most watched television programmes, uninterruptedly having been broadcast for over 60 years.
There participate singers from 42 countries at Eurovision issue of 2018.
The representatives of the Republic of Moldova, members of band; SunStroke Project, took third place at Eurovision, which took place in Kiev, Ukraine, in 2017, with song "Hey Mamma". It is the best performance of Moldova at this contest. Moldova has participated in this competition since 2005 when band: Zdob si Zdub had ranked the 6th position.
