
Romanian president awards distinctions to five personalities of Moldova
Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - Five personalities of the culture and education sector from Moldova have been awarded distinctions for special merits by Romanian President Claus Iohannis. A ceremony on handing the distinctions took place at the headquarters of Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau today.
It is about fine artists Eleonora Romanescu and Ghenadie Jalba, actress Ninela Caranfil, scientific researcher, university lecturer Maria Pilchin and the headmaster of the Gheorghe Asachi Romanian-French Theoretical Lyceum, Boris Volosatai.
In his speech, Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita said that the distinctions had been offered as a token of appreciation for the important contribution put in the service of promotion of the Romanian culture, language and spirituality in Moldova.
Thus, fine artists Eleonora Romanescu and Ghenadie Jalba were awarded the Cultural Merit Order, in the Commander rank, C Category – Fine Arts.
Actress Ninela Caranfil was awarded the Cultural Merit Order in the Officer rank, D Category, Play Art. At the same time, a scientific researcher at Moldova’s Academy of Sciences, lecturer at the Universal Literature Chair, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the Moldovan State University Maria Pilchin was awarded the Cultural Merit Oder in the Knight rank, A Category, Literature.
Also, the headmaster of the Gheorghe Asachi Romanian-French Theoretical Lyceum, Boris Volosatai, was awarded the Merit for Education Order, in Officer rank, as a token of appreciation for his important contribution for the promotion of the Romanian language, Romanian culture and traditions, as well as for the promotion of the European values in Moldova.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, actress Ninela Caranfil said that this distinction was a great happiness for her on behalf of the Romanian state in the Union Centenary Year.
For her part, scientific researcher Maria Pilchin noted that this distinction honoured and disciplined her. “Four out of six books of mine have been published in Romania. Beyond the Prut river, we are regarded with empathy and understanding,” Maria Pilchin stressed.
