The foreign affairs ministers agreed to take joint actions to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership based on mutual trust and beneficial cooperation.

“In Jerusalem, I had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Gideon Sa’ar. We discussed enhancing Moldova-Israel bilateral relations in political, economic, legal, and humanitarian areas, and deepening our multilateral cooperation. Together with my Israeli counterpart, we agreed to take concrete steps to advance bilateral relations to a strategic partnership level – based on trust, respect, and mutual benefits,” said Mihai Popșoi.

Another topic of discussion was the relaunch of the Moldova-Israel Intergovernmental Commission for Commercial-Economic Cooperation, aiming to stimulate mutual investments and joint projects in key sectors such as technology, agriculture, health, and education.

The officials also addressed expanding the bilateral legal framework by signing the Agreement on Legal Cooperation in civil and commercial matters, an instrument that will facilitate cooperation between courts of the two countries.

Moreover, topics discussed included the regional security situation, developments regarding Republic of Moldova's European integration process, and issues related to the protection of Moldovan citizens' rights in Israel.

On May 27 - 29, Popșoi is on a working visit to Israel.

Mihai Popșoi will also participate in the Ministerial Conference on Combating Antisemitism – a high-level event gathering dignitaries and international experts engaged in preventing and combating antisemitism globally.

The visit also includes a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan community in Israel.
