Moldovan official, MEPs discuss current issues

The European Union is not just a partner, it is an anchor of stability, real support in key moments, and a source of trust for the future of the Republic of Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor made the statement at a today's meeting with a group of MEPs.

“It was an open discussion, based on trust and the common desire to build a safer, stronger, and more connected Moldova to the European future,” said Doina Nistor.

The officials discussed the European Union's support for the Moldovan economy, digitalization and innovation projects, and the strengthening of cybersecurity.

“We talked openly about the European Union's support for the Moldovan economy, support that makes a difference, especially in times marked by regional instability and economic challenges; concrete digitalization and innovation projects – from digital infrastructure to solutions that simplify people's lives; strengthening cybersecurity, including in the context of last week's signing in Brussels of the cybersecurity agreement of the Republic of Moldova,” concluded Doina Nistor.

The Republic of Moldova will benefit from unprecedented assistance amounting to 1.9 billion euros from the European Union. The financial resources will be allocated for the implementation of our country's Economic Growth Plan. The support will be granted based on conditions provided in the Reform Agenda of the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, recently approved by the Government. This includes 153 measures and 56 reforms, which are to be implemented by the end of 2027.
