Moldovan Speaker visits La Iepurași guesthouse

Speaker Igor Grosu visited today La Iepurași guesthouse in Florești district. Thanks to the support from the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), Ciuprină family managed to install solar panels, thus saving over 400 thousand lei in electricity bills in 2024.

The official emphasized that the business, which is an example of local entrepreneurship was created eight years ago.

"In Florești district, in the village of Lunga, I got acquainted with Ciuprină family business - the guesthouse 'La Iepurași' - an inspiring example of local entrepreneurship. The guesthouse 'La Iepurași', is passionately managed by the Ciuprină family for over eight years. With eight employees, including two returning from the diaspora, the guesthouse is also a model of reintegration at home," said Igor Grosu.

Currently, Ciuprină family plans to make new investments, such as a rabbit farm.

"Two years ago, with the support of the ODA program, they managed to install solar panels, and in 2024 they saved over 400 thousand lei on bill payments, thus reducing their electricity costs completely. Dumitru mentioned they have also applied for other governmental programs like AIPA and 373 to offer tourists the best experiences. They plan to make new investments, such as a rabbit farm. We will continue to support such initiatives both for the development of tourism in the northern region of the country and for sustainable businesses in rural areas," said Igor Grosu.

Last year, ODA facilitated 595 companies in accessing grants totaling over 250 million lei. Nearly 179 million lei come from the state budget, and 54 million lei were provided by the European Union through the EU for SMEs project. The total value of investments in the economy amounts to 532.4 million lei.
