Over 170 families apply to Green Home Programme in Moldova in first days after launch

Over 170 families have applied to the Green Home Programme in the first days after its launch. They can benefit from grants of up to 200,000 lei, in order to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their energy invoices.

The National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) has unveiled data to this effect. CNED noted that, in the initial days following the launch of this financing product, citizens' interest had been significant.

The Green Home Programme is part of the Energy Efficiency Fund for the Residential Sector (FEERM). Through this new initiative, the state supports investments in sustainable housing and thus contributes to reducing energy consumption, lowering invoices and protecting the environment.

Green Home was launched on July 3. The project provides non-refundable financing of up to 200,000 lei to beneficiaries for a wide range of works aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of homes. They include thermal insulation of exterior walls, roofs and floors, contributing to reducing heat loss and maintaining optimal thermal comfort.

At the same time, the programme supports the modernization of heating and ventilation systems, including the setting of efficient heating plants and heat recovery ventilation systems, in order to ensure low energy consumption and healthy indoor air.

Beneficiaries can submit their applications online via the www.feerm.md platform, where they can access useful information, identify authorized suppliers and track the progress of financing stages. The entire process will be monitored step by step by CNED specialists and the grant payment will only be made after the final acceptance of the works.

The FEERM programme is developed by the government of Moldova with financial support from the European Union, implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy and the Ministry of Energy, supported through the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova (E4M) project. E4M is implemented by the German Agency for International Development (GIZ) along with the government of Moldova, funded by the German government, and co-financed by the European Union, Norway and Denmark.
