
Moldovan PM has discussion with new World Bank's Country Director for Moldova
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has met new Country Director of the World Bank for Moldova Ulrich Schmitt. The officials reaffirmed the partnership between Moldova and the World Bank, through which important projects for citizens are being implemented.
PM Dorin Recean said that the World Bank continuously supported the government in carrying out concrete measures with direct impact on people, as well as in implementing the reform agenda and advancing the European path of Moldova. The most important projects involve energy interconnection with Romania, enhancing agricultural competitiveness, modernizing governmental services, water and sanitation supply, improving education quality and the land registration and valuation project.
“The government is working, in order to increase productivity, so that we have more resources to make investments and improve the living conditions for people,” said the prime minister.
For his part, new Country Director Ulrich Schmitt said that the World Bank team was a partner of the authorities in implementing all reforms and would continue to collaborate closely. A future area of interest is cybersecurity.
