Prospects for Moldova-Lithuania cooperation on regional security, EU enlargement discussed in Vilnius

The European path of Moldova, as well as the common perspectives shared by the  country and Lithuania regarding regional security and European Union’s enlargement have been discussed in Vilnius by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and the Lithuanian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and representative of this country in the EU General Affairs Council Sigitas Mitkus.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of an event organized by the Center for Security and Geopolitical Studies in the Lithuanian capital, where both officials participated together.

“Lithuania is a reliable partner and friend of our country, and the authorities, civil society and academia in Vilnius understand from their own experience how important it is to face challenges while developing as a country and maintaining the EU-oriented direction,” emphasized Cristina Gherasimov.

The official visit by the deputy PM to Vilnius takes place on July 30-31 and aims to deepen bilateral relations and strengthen Lithuania's political support in the process of Moldova's European integration.
