
Deputy Prime Minister, Lithuanian parliamentarians discussed reforms in Chișinău and developments on European agenda
The latest developments on the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the reforms implemented in Chișinău in preparation for the next stage of negotiations for accession to the European Union were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov during a visit to Vilnius.
The official met with several members of the Lithuanian Seimas, including Remigijus Motuzas, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Tomas Tomilinas, Deputy Chairman of the European Affairs Committee, and Kazys Starkevicius, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Moldova.
“We exchanged views on the latest developments on the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova and talked about the reforms we are undertaking in Chișinău to prepare our country for the next stage in the negotiation process. I thanked the Lithuanian parliamentarians for their active involvement and support in our journey towards the EU,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
Also today, in Vilnius, Cristina Gherasimov and the Lithuanian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and representative in the EU General Affairs Council, Sigitas Mitkus, discussed regional security and the expansion of the European Union.
The official visit of the Deputy Prime Minister to Vilnius takes place on July 30-31 and aims to deepen bilateral relations and strengthen Lithuania's political support in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova.
