Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration has meeting with officials from Finland, Romania
0Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian today had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Property Coordination of Finland Tutti Tuppurainen and State Secretary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Romania Daniela Gitman, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The officials discussed topical subjects as to the process of Transnistrian conflict settlement, including in the context of the war in Ukraine, the dynamic of the process of negotiations, the role of Moldova’s partners, as well as other subjects of common interest.
Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian emphasized the constitutional authorities’ interest in enhancing the role of the European Union in the format of negotiations, given that the European Council in 2022 gave Moldova the status of country candidate for accession to EU.
Serebrian also pointed to the European Union’s positive role in the process of settlement and rapprochement of the two banks of Dniester, promotion of confidence building measures and deepening of the relations with EU.
The deputy prime minister highlighted the developments marked in the Transnistrian file, as well as the negative effects of the war in Ukraine on Moldova and the settlement process.
Oleg Serebrian offered sincere thanks to the officials for the active cooperation and the support provided to Moldova.
