Moldovan PM congratulates Romanian counterpart on assuming office as Romania’s prime minister

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has wished Luca Niculescu success in carrying out his mandate as Prime Minister of Romania and reaffirmed the Moldovan government’s willingness to continue joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure and European integration.

“Romania has been and remains by Moldova’s side. We share the same language and culture, as well as fraternal ties between the people on both sides of the Prut River. On this natural foundation, we have also built a close partnership between our states,” Vasile Tofan said.

The prime minister emphasized that, in recent years, Moldova and Romania had advanced important projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure and European integration. According to him, cooperation between the two states will continue, with an emphasis on projects that bring benefits to citizens on both sides of the Prut River.

“We still have much to do, and I am convinced that we will continue, with the same confidence and determination, the projects that bring real benefits to people on both sides of the Prut River,” said the Moldovan PM.

Vasile Tofan assured that the government of Moldova would remain a reliable partner for Bucharest, in order to strengthen bilateral relations.

At the same time, the Moldovan prime minister thanked Ilie Bolojan for the cooperation during his term in office, for the support provided to Moldova and for the projects carried out jointly.

“During this period, we managed together to advance important projects and further strengthen the ties between Chisinau and Bucharest. I am convinced that we will continue to work just as well, for the benefit of people on both sides of the Prut River,” Vasile Tofan said.

Luca Niculescu was sworn in as Prime Minister of Romania on October 20, after receiving a vote of confidence from the parliament in Bucharest.
