Moldovan parliament speaker to attend European Conference of Presidents of Parliament of Council of Europe member states
Chisinau, October 14, 2026 – Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will attend the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament of the Council of Europe member states, which will take place in Rome on October 15–16, 2026.
The event will bring together more than 70 speakers and deputy speakers of parliament from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as more than 500 delegates. Representatives of the parliaments of partner countries, observer states and neighboring countries of the Council of Europe, as well as the presidents of more interparliamentary assemblies will also attend the conference.
This year’s discussions will focus on three main topics: hybrid threats to resilient democracies, artificial intelligence and the labor market, as well as the role of parliaments in managing contemporary crises. Igor Grosu will deliver an address during the panel dedicated to hybrid threats to resilient democracies.
On the sidelines of the conference, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from more countries, as well as meetings with Moldovan entrepreneurs from Italy.
The conference is held every two years under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). This year’s edition is hosted by the Italian Parliament, which organized the event in Rome for the first time in 1975.
